Volunteer Opportunities

IMPORTANT UPDATEMSU Safe Place will be resuming volunteer opportunities! As a part of the Safe Place and Center for Survivors' merge Safe Place volunteers will be joining the SACI (Survivor Advocacy Crisis Intervention) Team. Requirements to Volunteer

  1. Complete volunteer application and volunteer interview

  2. Agree to a criminal background check (ICHAT), a federal sex offender registry search, a Michigan sex offender registry search, a MDHHS Clearance, and a MSU conduct check if applicable.

  3. Complete 40-hour Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention (SACI) Advocate training

  4. Attend weekly SACI volunteer meetings on Mondays at 6pm

  5. Attend required weekly shifts.

  6. One year commitment

  7. If you are a survivor of sexual assault, we ask that one year has elapsed since receiving services from the MSU Center for Survivors before applying to volunteer with our program.
